When information is ubiquitous and free, and when basic education is available to billions of people worldwide, only one set of skills can ensure this generation's economic future - the capacity for innovation. What must teachers, parents, mentors, and employers do to develop the capacities of many more young people to be the innovators that they want to be—and that we need them to become? What do the best schools and colleges do to teach the skills of innovation? This comprehensive instructional course provides educators and administrators with proven methods to create instructional units that will foster innovation and entrepreneurialism in students. This course has been designed with the goal of providing a comprehensive framework that operationally defines and demonstrates how to effectively engage students through the use of such instructional methodologies as Design Thinking, Linked Learning, the Art of Making in a Maker Space, and PBL. This course is divided into the following modules: 1. Why Do We Need Innovative Thinkers? 2. What is Design Thinking and Linked Learning? 3. Fostering Creativity, Critical Thinking and Collaboration 4. The Art of Making and Exploring to Build Innovation Skills 5. Strengthening Student Problem-Solving Skills 6. Helping Students Have Perseverance and Curiosity
